Barricaded Individual

On January 31, 2022, at approximately 1:30PM, Blood Tribe Police Service officers attended a complaint of an intoxicated male causing mischief at a residence near Standoff on the Blood Tribe Nation.

As officers arrived on scene, they were notified by the homeowner that the male had discharged a firearm inside the residence prior to the officer's arrival. The remaining occupants of the home were evacuated and the male barricaded himself in the residence. There were no reported injuries.

With the assistance of the RCMP, RCMP Emergency Response Team and RCMP Police Dog Services, the male was taken into custody without incident.

John Davis, 34, of Standoff has been charged with multiple firearms related offences. Davis was held in custody and will have his bail hearing on Wednesday, February 2, 2022.

BTPS requesting the public's assistance in finding a missing person

*** UPDATE*** Mya EAGLE CHILD, who was previously reported missing, has been found safe. Thanks go out to the public for all their assistance. *** On February 13, 2024, the family of Mya EAGLE CHILD called the Blood Tribe Police Service to report her missing. Mya, 24, from Standoff, AB, last spoke with her family on Thursday, February 8, 2024, by phone. Mya stated she was headed to Lethbridge. Mya was last seen wearing all black and is described as being 5'5" and 103 lbs, with a slim build, dark hair, and brown eyes. At this time police do not suspect foul play.
