MAN ARRESTED OVER THREATS TO POLICE

Jan 06, 2021

Blood Tribe Police Service arrested a man for a Facebook post, in which he threatened the lives of police officers and their families.

On December 30 2020, police became aware of a video on Facebook where a man stated that he would execute police officers and their families if they attempted to arrest him. Police learned that the man was in Standoff, AB but not a nation member.

32 year old Patrick RODNEY of Lethbridge Alberta, was located on the Blood Tribe and arrested and charged for Uttering Threats to Cause Death and Trespassing on the Blood Reserve.

He was released on an Undertaking with conditions not to be on the Blood Reserve and attend Cardston Provincial Court in March 2021.

The Blood Tribe Police Service would like to remind individuals visiting the Blood Tribe to report to the Blood Tribe Administration Office in Standoff immediately and obtain the proper permits before going about their business. Those who are simply traveling through and not stopping, are not required to obtain a permit.

More information on the Kainai/Blood Tribe Trespass Bylaw can be found on the administration website www.bloodtribe.org.

Anyone with information about this matter or any other matter is asked to contact the Blood Tribe Police Service at 403-737-3800 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS). You do not have to reveal your identity to Crime Stoppers, and if you provide information that leads to an arrest, you may be eligible for a cash reward.
