Traffic stop leads to firearms, weapons, and drug seizure.

On July 14th, 2023, the Blood Tribe Police Service conducted a traffic stop in Standoff, Alberta on the Blood Tribe and four (4) individuals were taken into custody.

As a result of the traffic stop and subsequent investigation, 60 grams of Suspected Fentanyl (approximate street value $24,000), 10 grams of Suspected Crack Cocaine individually packaged ready for sale (approximate street value $2,000), 1 loaded shotgun, 1 replica handgun, $2,150 dollars Canadian Currency, ammunition, and multiple edged weapons were seized.

Kristian Charles FOX, 27, of the Blood Tribe, was arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, possession for the purpose of trafficking crack cocaine, possession of property/proceeds obtained by crime, resisting arrest, and multiple firearm and weapon-related offences. FOX was on a previous release and was subsequently charged with breaching the conditions of that release order.

Additionally, FOX was also arrested and charged with forcible confinement, aggravated assault, uttering threats, and assault with a weapon, in relation to an ongoing investigation by BTPS.

David Shaneil CROW CHIEF, 25, of the Blood Tribe, who was in the same vehicle, was arrested and charged with forcible confinement, aggravated assault, failing to comply with a probation order, and assault with a weapon, in relation to the same ongoing investigation.

Both FOX and CROW CHIEF were brought before a JP for the purposes of a bail hearing, and both were remanded into custody to appear in Cardston Provincial Court on July 24, 2023.

The other two occupants of the vehicle were released without charges.

*** UPDATE*** Mya EAGLE CHILD, who was previously reported missing, has been found safe. Thanks go out to the public for all their assistance. *** On February 13, 2024, the family of Mya EAGLE CHILD called the Blood Tribe Police Service to report her missing. Mya, 24, from Standoff, AB, last spoke with her family on Thursday, February 8, 2024, by phone. Mya stated she was headed to Lethbridge. Mya was last seen wearing all black and is described as being 5'5" and 103 lbs, with a slim build, dark hair, and brown eyes. At this time police do not suspect foul play.
