Crime Prevention Coordinator

The Crime Prevention Coordinator (CPC) works with the community to decrease crime by developing, implementing, and coordinating a variety of police programs in crime prevention. Working with Elders and youth in the community will be a large segment of the Crime Prevention Coordinator focus. Make professional public presentations on community safety programs throughout the Blood Tribe to citizens, businesses, community leaders, and the media.

Working within established guidelines, leads, directs, develops, promotes, coordinates and evaluates Police Service Crime Prevention Programs and services related to community safety, while developing both short term and long term goals and strategies. This position is responsive to the needs of the Blood Tribe and the Blood Tribe Police Service.

Minimum requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, supplemented by relevant post-secondary courses.
  • 2 years of related work experience in the delivery of social services or public relations.
  • Excellent typing and computer skills for preparation of reports and presentations.
  • Class 5 drivers licence with an acceptable driving abstract.
  • Standard First Aid / CPR level C.
  • Good character with no recent or serious criminal activity.
