Fleet Technician

Under general direction, performs preventative maintenance, repair, outfitting, and servicing of police service vehicles and equipment; schedule maintenance and repairs, acquisition and replacement of specialized equipment. Completing vehicle registrations, licenses, plates, radars and other equipment as required. Keep accurate documentation of all activity involving fleet and any other duties as directed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, supplemented by relevant post-secondary courses.
  • 2 years of related work experience.
  • Excellent typing and computer skills for preparation of reports.
  • Class 5 drivers licence with acceptable driving abstract.
  • Standard First Aid / CPR level C.
  • Good character with no serious or recent criminal activity.

A combination of education, training and experience which provides the required skills to perform the essential functions of the job will be considered. Experience in the automotive field is necessary, post‐secondary or equivalent is preferred. Job requires the incumbent to sit, stand, walk, see, hear, view colours, lifting up to 37 Kg (80 pounds), and drive a variety of vehicles.
