Chief of Police

Message From The Chief

The Blood Tribe Police Service is proud to serve the community and to provide a modern and efficient police service unique to the community.  Over the past four years we have worked hard to improve the service provided to the community and to recruit the best available staff.  We are particularly proud of our success in recruiting several staff members from the local community over the last five years.

A strategic plan has been developed with the participation of the Police Commission which guides us through the next several years.  So far one of the most significant accomplishments we have implemented is the formalization of our Mission Statement and the Values of the Police Service.

 Mission Statement:

To be culturally responsive to the needs of the Blood Tribe community as its police service and challenge all staff to provide effective and accountable policing that meets the mandates of legislation and our policing agreement.

• Accountability

• Ethical Behavior

• Performance Excellence

• Integrity

• Community Commitment

• Respect

The police service through its values and mission under the guidance of strong civilian oversight and effective management will continue to improve and be accountable to the public it serves.  We are encouraging our employees to become more engaged in the community and to be there not only in time of crisis but also to become an effective part of the community on a daily basis.

We look forward to developing our community response to better serve your collective needs in the coming year.

H.L. (Lee) Boyd
